Turnberry is located in Ayrshire on the West Coast of Scotland and will be the host of the Open Championship again in 2009. Turnberry has arguably provided one of the greatest final days in Open Championship history when Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus battled it out in the famous "Duel in the Sun" in 1977. Tom Watson won that Open, he also won the Seniors British Open in 2003 over the same course.

Turnberry has hosted 4 Open Championship and 5 Seniors British Open Championships.
